In conjunction with Jonathan Monaghan’s exhibition “Alien Fanfare,” Curators’s Office is pleased to present Gareth Branwyn reading from his book Borg Like Me & Other Tales of Art, Eros and Embedded Systems. Gareth’s eighth book, Borg Like Me is a collection of his best writing for such magazines, zines, and blogs as Wired, Mondo 2000, ArtByte, Boing Boing (print and online), MAKE, and Going Gaga.

The book includes revealing new material about Gareth’s time at Wired, working on the seminal hypermedia project, Beyond Cyberpunk!, working with Billy Idol on his infamous Cyberpunk record, and his early life coming of age on a hippie commune. Gareth will be selling Tears in the Rain, a chapbook with excerpts from Borg Like Me and taking pre-orders on the book. When Branwyn read at SXSW, it was deemed one of the best and most moving programs at the Austin festival.

RSVP essential to andrea.pollan@ gmail.com.

This program is part of DC’s Forward Festival 2014, Forward Fest DC 2014,
organized by David Fogel and 88.

Gallery Hours are Thursday – Saturday, 12 – 6 and by appointment.
